Following the conclusion of the 2023/2024 Nigeria Premier Football League season, the management of the Shooting Stars has opened discussion with coach Gbenga Ogunbote for a new contract, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Oluyole Warriors finished in the 4th position of the league, their best position in the last decade.

During the post-match reactions, Ogunbote confirmed the expiration of his contract but quickly said the management is discussing an extension.

"The management is talking about the contract extension, they are bringing offers but we've not reached a conclusion", he said.

The Ibadan warlord missed an opportunity to return to the continent for the first time after 25 years.
