Sturm Graz In Talks With Arsenal For Nigeria-Born Arthur Okonkwo


Austrian Bundesliga side Sturm Graz are closing in on a loan deal for Nigeria-born Arsenal's third goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo, now on loan at Crewe Alexandria.

BSNSports.com.ng gathered from a tweet posted on Twitter by European Transfer Football expert and Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, First call TheAthleticFC — has been told the deal is now almost done. Okonkwo, doing great at Crewe with 10 clean sheets and is ready for the new step.

Arsenal are in talks with Sturm Graz and are holding an option to terminate his Crewe Alexandra loan early.

This update confirms rumours over the last couple of days of Sturm Graz’s interest in Okonkwo, with Arsenal Youth reporting that they were after him.

The report added that it hasn’t yet been officially confirmed whether Okonkwo has been recalled from Crewe.

Up until now, Okonkwo hasn’t missed a minute of league action since he joined the League Two club on loan.

Sturm Graz are second in the Austrian Bundesliga, and they return to competitive action in February, after their winter break.

Playing against AFC Wimbledon last Saturday, Okonkwo kept his 10th clean sheet of the loan – nine in League Two, the other in the FA Cup.
