Super 8 Playoff: Tony Obia Targets NPFL Promotion With Inter Lagos

Reliable and dependable goal poacher for Inter Lagos, Tony Obia has targeted promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, ahead of the Nigeria National League Super 8, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

Obia, who played 20 games, scored 10 goals and got 8 assists to help Inter Lagos secure the playoffs ticket believes the team have what it takes to gain promotion. 

According to him, the tactical acumen of the coaching crew led by Gabriel Ezema and the mentality of his teammates played a vital role in the successes recorded this season. 

"It's a great feeling to be among the teams to participate in the upcoming NNL Super 8 Playoffs in Enugu.

"It's been God and the support from my teammates and coaches to be among the top scorers of the season. They have shown commitment and resilience. I feel very happy because it is a privilege to be part of this great family.

"My expectation is gaining promotion to the NPFL next season with this great team. The coaches and players can make it happen. We are ready for the challenge in Enugu."

The SKE FC of Port Harcourt product also contributed to the success of the team in the ongoing 2024 President Federation Cup with 4 goals and 2 assists. 

They will tackle Hammola International FC of Osun State in the Round of 32.
