Former Nigeria's Super Eagles coach Finidi George has pleaded for time for players in the Nigeria Premier Football League to be able to integrate into the national team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

During his era as Super Eagles boss, Finidi invited 3 home-based players to the team but only Sadiq Suraj of Remo Stars made it to the field.

While speaking to Brila FM, former Enyimba International coach said it's a gradual process and it will improve their confidence.

" The local players played, Sodiq came in àgainst Benin Republic in the second half and that was his debut.

It's not bad you have to bring them in gradually.

" During my time, I also had the opportunity to play for 30 minutes and I could do the magic, it is a gradual process and if I was there a bit longer definitely be the introduction to these players bit by bit so that it would give them the confidence to play in the future", he said.
