Super Eagles Ambrose Opens Up On Celtic Spell

Former Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose has described his five-year stint with Celtic F.C. as the most defining period of his professional career, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Ambrose joined the Scottish giants in 2012 and quickly became an important figure in the team’s defensive setup during his time at Celtic Park.

Although he was initially signed as a midfielder, the Nigerian international later established himself as a dependable defensive option, playing both as a right-back and a centre-back.

During his five years with the Hoops, Ambrose made 168 appearances and contributed to several domestic successes for the club.

Reflecting on his time in Scotland, the 37-year-old said his spell at Celtic played a crucial role in shaping his football career.

“I will always cherish the time I spent at Celtic, and I love everything about the club. The truth is that, without Celtic, no one would ever have known Efe Ambrose. I would not have achieved in football what I have,” Ambrose told The Herald.

After leaving Celtic, Ambrose continued his career in Scotland and England, featuring for clubs including Derby County F.C., Livingston F.C., St Johnstone F.C., Dunfermline Athletic F.C. and Greenock Morton F.C..

The veteran defender has since moved into the junior football ranks and currently plays for Port Glasgow F.C. as he continues to extend his playing career.
