Super Eagles B Begin CHAN Preparations with Stalemate Against Zanzibar

Nigeria’s Super Eagles B side played out a goalless draw against Zanzibar in a friendly encounter on Monday at the Amaan Stadium. The match was part of the team’s preparations for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), scheduled to take place from August 2 to 30, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Despite the lack of goals, the fixture offered valuable insights for head coach Eric Chelle and his coaching staff, particularly in assessing the tactical discipline, defensive organization, and on-field chemistry of the locally-based squad.

The CHAN competition, co-hosted this year by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, is exclusively open to players active in their domestic leagues, providing a vital platform for emerging homegrown talent.

Nigeria is expected to face Zanzibar again in a second preparatory match on Thursday as part of ongoing efforts to fine-tune the squad ahead of the tournament.
