Super Eagles Can Win AFCON Trophy - Nwakali

Returning Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has said they are capable of winning next year's African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Nwakali is one of the players invited back into the team after almost 2 years of absence from the squad.

While speaking to the Punch Correspondent, the Chavez of Portugal midfielder made it clear that they just need to be consistent in their performance.

 “I feel we’ve got a very good squad to win the AFCON.

“This time around, the Eagles will have Victor (Osimhen), he can lead the team to the AFCON title. He is the best striker in the world at the moment.

“I believe our squad is capable in any given game of matching any team. But obviously, it’s one thing having that and another being able to do that consistently throughout a tournament", he said.

Former Maastricht player was part of the Super Eagles team to AFCON Cameroon under coach Austin Eguavoen.
