Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle has reacted to the transfer of Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nadi to French Ligue 1 giants Olympique Marseille, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The skilful midfielder completed his move to the former European champions on the winter transfer deadline day, marking a major step in his professional career.

Speaking to French outlet L’Equipe, Chelle expressed strong confidence in Nadi’s qualities and long-term potential at the top level.

“I thought he should have been playing in a bigger league a long time ago. He’s fast, strong, aggressive in winning the ball back, and can make a lot of interceptions,” Chelle said.

Nadi’s move to Marseille is widely seen as a significant breakthrough, with expectations that the Nigerian international will bring energy, physicality, and defensive solidity to Roberto De Zerbi’s midfield setup.

The transfer also boosts his profile within the Super Eagles setup, as regular performances in Ligue 1 could strengthen his claim for a consistent role in Nigeria’s national team going forward.
