Super Eagles Coach Will Be Unveiled Soon - Official

The new coach of Super Eagles will be announced soon, this according to a to official of the Nigeria Football Federation, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The tyre times African champions have been without a substantive coach since the federation sack Finidi George. The NFF's Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen has been acting on interim capacity and has led the 2023 AFCON finalists to qualify for the 2025 African Nations Cup.

Despite that, a top official of the NFF has hinted that a substantive coach will be named this January. 

Nothing will stop us (NFF) from unveiling a coach for the Super Eagles this month. We have to take a decision for a coach to be named this month because he has to first of all familiarize himself with the players following tough assignment ahead of him."

In the same vein, former NFF President, Amaju Pinnick told Channels Sports that "NFF will announce an enterprising coach soon. “Any moment from now, I am sure they would be announcing a coach, an enterprising coach at that,” Pinnick told Channels Television Sports Tonight.

The new coach when announced will now oversee the remaining part of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

Nigeria are second from bottom in Group C with three points from four matches.

They resume their campaign in Rwanda before a home game against Zimbabwe in March.
