Israel-based goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye is delighted to have made his Super Eagles debut after a long wait, BSNSports.com.ng report.
The energetic goalkeeper was earlier invited to the team camp during the last international break but he was unable to make his debut.
The Super Eagles team who are preparing for an international friendly against Desert Foxes of Algeria on next Tuesday faced the Algeria Team B team on Friday in a 2-2 draw.
Adeleye was introduced into the game in the second half as a replacement for Maduka Okoye who started the game.
Adeleye said he was happy about the debut adding that he would have loved to keep a clean sheet.
“It’s great to play for the Super Eagles, I’m just happy to make my debut for the Super Eagles. I’m just happy to play for my country.
“It would have been great to keep a clean sheet, but it was a penalty and there was nothing I could do about it.
“We are working hard in training and looking forward to the next game on Tuesday", he told NFF TV.
