Super Eagles Finally Depart Libya After Hostages
By Precious Oham
Super Eagles has finally departed the war-turn state of Libya hours after been held hostage at the Al Abraq Airport, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Recall that the Libyan government held Nigeria Super Eagles players hostage at Al Abraq International Airport after they initially refused to issue clearance for ValueJet Airline to fly and sell aviation fuel to the Nigerian airline.
According to William Troost-Ekong, "Power of social media. Apparently our plane is being fueled as we speak and we should be leaving to Nigeria shortly. Thanks for everyone’s support!
"I REITERATE: We would NEVER treat a guest nation for a game in this way. Mistakes happen, delays happen. But never on purpose!"
