Super Eagles Forward: AFCON Experience Will Make Me Succeed At New Club

Super Eagles forward Fago Lawal has expressed confidence that his experience with Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco will play a key role in his success at his new club, Viktoria Plzeň, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian international completed a move to the Czech giants from Croatian side NK Istra on Tuesday, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract.

Lawal believes the exposure and intensity of international football at AFCON have adequately prepared him for the challenges ahead in European club football.

 “I know Viktorka mainly from their performances in European competitions, where they have achieved great results over a long period.

" This offer really interested me, and I see it as a step forward in my career. I want to help the club as much as possible,” Lawal said after completing his transfer.

The forward added that his recent involvement with the national team has ensured he is match-ready ahead of his new adventure.

“Given that I was with the national team at the African Championship, I feel well prepared and ready to be fully available to the coaches immediately".

"I am really looking forward to my first training session and getting to know my new teammates,” he added.

Lawal, who will wear the number 70 jersey at Viktoria Plzeň, is expected to bolster the club’s attacking options as they continue their domestic and European campaigns.
