Super Eagles Goalkeeper Involved In Match-Fixing Scandal, Suspended By Club

Super Eagles goalkeeper Amas Obasogie has been suspended by his Tanzanian club, Singida Black Stars, over an alleged match-fixing scandal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to Tanzanian journalist Samir Sylva ( @SamirSylva), the club announced disciplinary measures against two of its players following internal investigations into alleged misconduct.

While Nigerian shot-stopper Obasogie was handed a three-month suspension over alleged match-fixing, Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho was also suspended for three months for misconduct, which reportedly includes dereliction of duty and absenteeism.

The club is yet to make a detailed public statement outlining the specifics of the allegations against Obasogie, but sources indicate that the decision forms part of efforts to maintain discipline and protect the integrity of the team.

Obasogie, who has been in contention for national team duties with the Super Eagles, now faces an uncertain future as investigations into the matter continue.
