Following his amazing performance in the just concluded Israeli Premier League season Nigeria's Super Eagles goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye has been rewarded with a 3-year contract extension by his club Hapoel Jerusalem, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Adeleye joined the Jerusalem club in 2019 from the rival club Jerusalem Katamon for a record fee for a goalkeeper.

Speaking to the PUNCH correspondent, the young goalkeeper was elated about the development and how the club's wish is part of their long-term project.

"I’m very happy that an agreement was reached for me to sign this extension to my contract.

“I’m also glad that the club wants me to be part of the project long-term, and am very happy.

“We are working hard for success and I will do my best to bring more smiles to the faces of the fans who have made me feel so welcome since I arrived.

”I feel very settled here and have enjoyed my time on the pitch here."

Adeleye kept 10 clean sheets in 29 matches for Hapoel Jerusalem this season.
