Alex Iwobi has provided an encouraging update on his recovery from injury, boosting hopes for both Fulham F.C. and Nigeria head coach Eric Chelle ahead of the Super Eagles’ upcoming international friendlies against Poland and Portugal, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to Daily Post, Iwobi sustained the injury during Fulham’s 1-0 defeat to Brentford F.C. at the Community Stadium in April, forcing him off the pitch and initially sparking fears that he could miss the remainder of the season.

The midfielder subsequently sat out several Premier League fixtures, including matches against Aston Villa F.C., AFC Bournemouth, and Arsenal F.C., with Fulham struggling for consistency during his absence.

However, the latest update from the player has eased concerns over the severity of the injury. Speaking about his rehabilitation progress, Iwobi revealed that he is now able to walk again, although he admitted he is still experiencing some discomfort. He also expressed relief that the issue is not a recurring injury.

Fulham manager Marco Silva had previously indicated that the injury was not expected to keep the Nigerian midfielder sidelined for an extended period, and Iwobi’s latest comments appear to support that assessment.
