Super Eagles Have The Quality To Beat Rwanda Zimbabwe - Ex-Super Eagles AFCON Winner

Former Super Eagles forward, Mutiu Adepoju has drummed supports for the Super Eagles and optimistic of picking maximum six points in their next two matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The 2013 African Nations Cup winners will on Friday (today) face Rwanda in Kigali before hosting Zimbabwe next Tuesday in the matchday 5 and 6 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo. The 2023 AFCON runners up have been condemned to winning both matches following their unimpressive performance. Benin Republic are topping the Group C table with 10 points from five games while Rwanda and South Africa are second and third respectively with seven points apiece. Lesotho are fourth with five points while Nigeria are in fifth position with three points from four games.

Reacting ahead of today's must-win match against Amavubi of Rwanda, Mutiu Adepoju, 2014 African Nations Cup winner with Super Eagles, though admitted that it is difficult but achievable for Nigeria to pick wins in the two games.

"The Super Eagles have the quality to beat Rwanda in Kigali and Zimbabwe in Nigeria, he told www.bsnsports.com.ng.

"The Super Eagles have no excuse and have been condemned to winning the two matches if the are to qualify for the world cup.

"Picking six points from the two games will send message of seriousness of not wanting to miss the world cup back to back to the whole world."

"All Africa football teams have improved a lot and are always looking forward to beating Nigeria, one of the reasons, the Nigeria senior national team are in 5th position. However, mathematically, they can still qualify. Nigerians won't be happy if they miss going to play at the 2026 world cup.
