The Super Eagles have commenced preparations for their upcoming international friendly against Portugal, holding their first training session in Lisbon on Friday night, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

A total of 22 players took part in the session, with key stars including Alex Iwobi, Samuel Chukwueze and Christian Akpan are the latest players that joined the squad ahead of the encounter.

Nigeria will face Portugal on Tuesday, June 10, 2026, in Lisbon as part of preparations for Africa Nations Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles head into the match on the back of a 2-2 draw against Poland in an international friendly played on Wednesday.

Before the Poland fixture, Nigeria secured the Unity Cup title for the fourth time after defeating Jamaica in London.

The friendly against Portugal is expected to provide another valuable test for the Super Eagles as the coaching crew continues to assess the squad and build momentum ahead of future international assignments.
