Super Eagles In Talks With Romanian Giants CFR Cluj

Super Eagles forward Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo is edging closer to a return to football action after leaving Serie A side Salernitana in July, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 33-year-old striker, popularly known as Simy, has been without a club for two months but could soon be unveiled by Romanian powerhouse CFR Cluj, with negotiations for a one-year deal plus an option for an additional season already at an advanced stage.

Reports indicate that Simy has given his approval in principle to join Cluj, just hours before the close of the summer transfer window.

The Nigerian, who began his career at home before moving to Europe, has previously featured for Gil Vicente and Portimonense in Portugal, as well as Crotone in Italy.

Last season, he made 27 appearances for Salernitana, contributing six goals and two assists.
