Super Eagles Legend Condemns Salah Outburst
Sampson Adedeji
Former Super Eagles midfielder Sunday Oliseh has reacted to the recent controversy involving Egypt and Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, following the forward’s public frustration after being benched for a third consecutive match under new manager Arne Slot, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Salah has dominated headlines in recent days after his visible disappointment over his reduced role at Anfield, despite being Liverpool’s main attacking figure for nearly a decade.
Oliseh, while acknowledging Salah’s importance to both Liverpool and Egypt, criticised the winger’s decision to make his feelings public.
“Salah has been the main man at Liverpool for almost a decade, just like Messi was at Barcelona,” Oliseh said.
“Henry was not bought by Barcelona to lead the team but to help Messi, Eto’o and Iniesta lead the team.
“The way Salah is loved and adored in Egypt, Henry was nowhere near loved that way in France, with all due respect.
“Salah has a right to be unhappy about his situation more than Henry had at Barcelona, but he should not have gone public.”
