Super Eagles Olisa Ndah In Contention For Orlando Pirates Captaincy Role

Sampson Adedeji

Following his outstanding performances last season for Orlando Pirates, Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah has been pencilled down as one of the players to take over as captain of the club, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The skipper of the club Happy Jele decided to pathways with the team at end of last season and Thulani Hlatshwayo and Ntsikelelo Nyauza who often deputized for him in recent years have both left the club.

Ndah who joined the club from Akwa United after helping the Promise Keepers to win the Nigerian Professional Football League title, has quickly adapted to life in South African football.

The only issue that Pirates may have to consider is whether the Nigerian is prepared to commit himself to their cause for the long-term.

Having represented Nigeria senior team twice, Ndah may be eyeing a European move soon.

Ndah will contend with Black Stars of Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori and Tapelo Xoki for the captaincy role.
