Super Eagles Open Morocco Camp As 10 Players Arrive Ahead Of Gabon Playoff Clash

Ten players have reported to the Super Eagles’ training camp in Rabat, Morocco, as preparations intensify for Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Playoff semi-final against Gabon, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Team captain William Troost-Ekong, defenders Benjamin Fredericks and Chidozie Awaziem were the latest arrivals at the team’s hotel on Sunday night, joining seven early birds who reported over the weekend.

Those already in camp include defender Calvin Bassey, midfielders Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi, and forwards Moses Simon, Tolu Arokodare, Olakunle Olusegun, and Samuel Chukwueze.

The remaining 15 invited players are expected to arrive on Monday, as the three-time African champions gear up for what promises to be a thrilling encounter against the Panthers of Gabon at the Complexe Sportif Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan. The match is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 p.m. Morocco time (same as Nigeria).

Meanwhile, the other semi-final will see Cameroon take on the Democratic Republic of Congo, with the winners of both ties advancing to the final on Sunday evening at the same venue. The eventual champion will secure Africa’s sole ticket to the Intercontinental Playoffs slated for Mexico next year.
