By Niyi Busari
The Super Eagles have resumed training as they prepare for the third-place playoff against Egypt at the ongoing tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Under the guidance of head coach Eric Chelle, the team held a light training session focused on jogging and ball circulation, aimed at easing the players back into rhythm after their semifinal defeat.
The session was designed to help the squad recover both physically and mentally while beginning preparations for Saturday’s encounter with the Pharaohs.
According to the team’s training schedule, the Super Eagles returned to action on Thursday, a day after their loss to tournament hosts Morocco in the semifinals. The squad is expected to intensify preparations on Friday, with greater emphasis on tactical and technical adjustments ahead of the playoff match.
The three-time African champions will be seeking to put the disappointment of their semifinal exit behind them as they aim to secure the bronze medal. A positive mental approach and tactical discipline will be key as they face a familiar Egyptian side in the battle for third place.
Egypt versus Nigeria Third Place playoff is scheduled for 4:00pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, January 17, 2026.
The match will take place at the Stade Mohammed V in Casablanca, Morocco.
