Super Eagles Star, Anayo Iwuala Donates Football Kits, Others To Boyhood Club

In a heartwarming visit to his alma mater, Nigeria International and Kuwait Premier League star, Anayo Iwuala has donated football kits and other equipments to Excellent Football Academy, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Iwuala, who debuted for the Nigeria national team in a 1–0 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualification win over Benin on 27 March 2021 featured for his grassroots club Excellent FC in a celebrity-friendly match against Excellent Football Academy's U-17 team.

The match, played at the Ughelli Stadium, brought together notable figures in Nigerian football, including Simon Akpomedaye, Moses Omodumoke, and Peter Omodumoke.

During his visit, Iwuala emphasized the importance of hard work and focus for young players to succeed in the sport.

Recounting his journey from Excellent Football Academy to becoming a professional footballer, Iwuala encouraged the U-17 boys to remain dedicated to their craft.

He said: "I had a dream like you all, and with hard work, obeying the instructions of coaches, and the grace of God, I am where I am today. You can also see your dreams happen." 

Iwuala's visit was not without gesture, as he donated footballs, kits, and equipment to Excellent Football Academy and other grassroots clubs in Ughelli, Delta State. 

This act of kindness was met with gratitude from the academy's CEO, Mr. Onome Ikrechero, who praised Iwala for remembering his roots.

 "This is a very important period in the lives of our youth players, and with this inspiration they are drawing from you, I am confident they will excel," Ikrechero stated.

Iwala's journey from Excellent Football Academy to the pinnacle of Nigerian and international football serves as a testament to the academy's role in nurturing young talents.
