Super Eagles Striker Departs Club, Waives Outstanding Wages

Nigeria international and Botev Plovdiv forward Anthony Ujah has officially ended his stint with the Bulgarian club, choosing to forgo the outstanding wages owed to him, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The former Eintracht Braunschweig striker, who joined Botev last summer, announced his departure via social media on Friday morning. Despite an injury setback that kept him sidelined for most of his time at the club, Ujah expressed gratitude to the fans and reaffirmed his affection for the club.

“From the first day I arrived, the fans showed me nothing but love. Unfortunately, I got injured and couldn't return to the pitch,” he wrote.

“Even with that, the fans continued to support me. When I had the opportunity to help the club financially, I didn't hesitate. Botev is a club with a rich history and deserves to be in the top flight.”

Ujah concluded by wishing the team success in the upcoming season and pledged to remain a loyal supporter: “I’ll definitely come back to support the club.”
