Super Eagles Striker Returns To Partial Training After Two-Month Injury Layoff

Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers has taken a significant step toward full recovery after returning to partial team training with Panathinaikos, two months after suffering a sprain that sidelined him since September, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
According to reports from All Nigeria Soccer, the Nigerian striker participated in selected portions of Friday’s training session ahead of Panathinaikos’ Super League clash with Panserraikos. Dessers trained alongside teammates Calabria and Kotsiras, joining warm-up routines, rondo drills, tactical sequences, and finishing exercises as part of a carefully managed reintegration plan.
The 30-year-old, who joined the Greek giants during the summer transfer window, has missed ten matches across all competitions, as well as Nigeria’s last four international fixtures. His absence has been felt, particularly as Panathinaikos navigate a congested fixture schedule.
Before the injury setback, Dessers enjoyed a promising start to his Greek adventure, scoring twice in his first four appearances. His return to on-pitch activity provides a timely boost for the club, who are seeking increased firepower during a crucial stretch of the season.
Panathinaikos remain cautious but optimistic as Dessers works toward full fitness, with the striker aiming to rejoin the matchday squad in the coming weeks.
