Super Eagles To Face Jamaica, Ghana In Four-Nation Invitational Tournament In England
By Niyi Busari
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has finalized Super Eagles participation in the four-nation invitational tournament holding in England, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The 2023 African Nations Cup runners-up will face arch-rival, Ghana and Jamaica in the organised international friendly games few days after taking on Russia.
This is to take advantage of FIFA window in June to give the Head Coach, Eric Chelle the opportunity to know the players better and perfect his tactics before hosting Rwanda in Uyo and taking on South Africa in the matchday 7 and 8 of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The hope of Super Eagles qualifying for the 2026 World Cup dimmed after a 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe in Uyo last Tuesday leaving the three times African champions with just seven points from six games. Group C leaders, South Africa have 13 points while Rwanda and Benin Republic are second and third respectively with eight points apiece.
