Nigeria will be aiming to secure maximum points and move to the top of Group C when they face Tunisia in their next Africa Cup of Nations group-stage encounter, BSNSports.com.ng reports. 

After identifying a few defensive lapses in their previous outing, head coach Eric Chelle is expected to make tactical adjustments as he seeks a more balanced and compact performance against a disciplined Tunisian side.

The Super Eagles are likely to adopt a 4-3-2-1 formation, designed to provide defensive solidity while allowing flexibility in attack. To top Group C table, Super Eagles have to beat the Carthage Eagles in their second game on Saturday. Tunisia are currently on top of the table with superior goal difference following a 3-1 victory over Uganda while Nigeria beat Tanzania 2-1.

Despite conceding a soft goal against Tanzania, Nwabali is expected to retain his place between the posts, having shown composure and command in recent appearances. In defence, Chelle may stick with the familiar full-back pairing of Osayi-Samuel but change is expected in the left full back position as Bright Onyemaechi is expected to replace Sanusi, while the central defensive partnership of Bassey and Ajayi—impressive in the previous match—appears set to continue.

In midfield, Wilfred Ndidi remains pivotal as the team’s anchor, offering defensive cover and ball recovery. Alex Iwobi, fresh from providing two assists in the last game, is expected to feature prominently, while Frank Onyeka could earn a starting role to add energy and pressing on the opposite side.

Ademola Lookman is likely to once again operate between midfield and attack, acting as the creative link and providing goal threat from advanced areas. Up front, Victor Osimhen is expected to lead the line despite failing to score in the last match, without Akor Adams as Ademola Lookman is expected to offer additional support and movement in attack.
