Nigeria's Super Eagles winger, Samuel Kalu, has secured a move to Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv, hoping to revive his career after a challenging period marked by injuries, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The 26-year-old, known for his flair and speed, was once regarded as one of Nigeria’s most promising wingers, but his progression has been hindered by persistent injuries over the years.

Kalu’s career had taken him through several top European clubs, including Bordeaux in France, Gent in Belgium, and most recently, FC Zurich in Switzerland.

However, his spell with Zurich was marred by injuries, and after departing the Swiss side, Kalu found himself without a club for a while.

Now, after months of uncertainty, Kalu has been handed a lifeline by Plovdiv, who confirmed his signing as a free agent on Monday.

His arrival at the Bulgarian club offers him an opportunity to rediscover his form and make a significant impact in the Bulgarian First League.

Kalu's career is far from over, and this new chapter in Bulgaria could be the perfect platform for him to return to his best and challenge for a spot in the Super Eagles squad ahead of future international competitions.
