Super Falcons Not In Panic Mood After Slim Loss To South Africa -Waldrum

Super Falcons coach, Randy Waldrum has assured that his team is not in a panic state but will improve on its sloppy performance in the next game against debutants and leaders of the group, Botswana, reports BSNSports.com.ng.

The defending champions, got its quest for a 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) off on a poor start after she lost 2-1 to rivals Banyana Banyana of South Africa

on Monday night at the Hassan Moulay Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.

Two quick goals in the second half from the duo of Jermaine Senoposenwe and Hildah Maigia, and a late one from Rasheedat Ajibade, made it a record back-to-back wins for the South Africans who in September last year thrashed the Super Falcons 4-2 at the final of the Aisha Buhari Cup (Invitational Tourney), held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan in Lagos.

The American in the post match chat said: "We knew it would be a difficult game, it is the first game of the tournament and it is a long tournament. We have to prepare for the next games.

"I was surprised with our performance in the attack. We got a late goal and we tried to get back in the game, we are still positive. 

"I am looking forward to how we can improve, we will look at the areas we were exposed and we will make those corrections." 

"We can't panic at this period, we still have two group games and we have to improve. 

"We will analyse and review individual players performance and make the right decisions in the next games."
