Sampson Adedeji
Nigeria’s Super Falcons have held onto their 36th position in the latest FIFA Women’s World Ranking released on Thursday, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The ranking, the first for 2025, was published on FIFA’s official website.
The nine-time African champions also remain the highest-ranked team on the continent. The Super Falcons have consistently occupied the 36th spot since March 2024, maintaining their position in the June, August, and December rankings last year.
Justine Madugu’s squad last played in a friendly against France in November 2024, where they suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat to Les Bleues.
South Africa, Morocco, Zambia, and Ghana complete Africa’s top five-ranked teams.
On the global stage, the United States continues to hold the No. 1 spot, followed by world champions Spain, Germany, England, and Japan.
The next FIFA/Coca-Cola Women’s World Ranking is scheduled for release on June 12, 2025.
