Newly crowned African champions, the Super Falcons of Nigeria, are set to return to competitive action in October 2025 for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) qualifiers, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Falcons, who recently clinched their record-extending 10th continental title after a thrilling 3-2 victory over hosts Morocco in the final, will face Benin in the upcoming qualifiers as they begin their journey to defend the crown.

According to the 2026 WAFCON qualifying draw, the clash against Benin will be a crucial step towards securing a spot in next year’s tournament.

The semi-finalists of the 2026 WAFCON will automatically qualify to represent Africa at the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
