Residents of Abuja and surrounding areas will have the opportunity to witness a moment of national pride as the Super Falcons return home with the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) trophy, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The record-extending 10-time champions are expected to arrive at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Monday by noon.

To commemorate the team’s remarkable victory, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has organized a celebratory trophy parade through key districts of the Federal Capital Territory. The motorcade, featuring an open-roof bus carrying the players and the iconic WAFCON trophy, will travel through Airport Road, Berger Junction, Maitama, and Wuse Market en route to the Presidential Villa.

“This parade will give fans and residents a rare chance to see the WAFCON trophy up close and celebrate with the champions,” said NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, on Sunday. “It’s a moment of pride not just for football lovers but for all Nigerians.”

The celebratory parade comes on the heels of Nigeria’s dramatic 3–2 comeback victory over host nation Morocco in Saturday night’s final at the Stade Olympique in Rabat. The triumph secured Nigeria’s 10th continental title — more than any other nation in the history of the competition.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) is scheduled to host the team later on Monday at the Presidential Villa, marking the culmination of a glorious campaign and a proud homecoming for Africa’s most successful women’s football team.
