Super Falcons To Face Portugal, Two Others Ahead African Women's Nations Cup

Super Falcons will trade tackles with Portugal women's national team in an international friendly game in June as part of preparations for the 2024 African Women's Nations Cup, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

In the next two months (May and June) before the Nations Cup, the African most successful women's national team will play three friendly matches; with Portugal and another two games with African power house in women's football in May, 2025.

The Super Falcons last played on Saturday, 30th November, 2024 when they suffered a 2-1 loss to France’s Les Bleues in Angers, France with Ifeoma Onumonu making history by scoring the first-ever goal for the Super Falcons against France. This after a two-legged international friendly games versus Algeria in Ikenne, Ogun State with the second leg in Lagos State.

The CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024 will take place from 5-26 July, 2025.

The draw for the 15th edition of WAFCON took place on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Mohammed VI Technical Centre in Salé, Morocco with Nigeria housed in Group B alongside Tunisia, Algeria and Botswana.
