Kelechi Iheanacho made a decisive impact off the bench as Celtic secured a hard-fought 2–1 victory over Hibernian at Easter Road on Sunday, keeping their Scottish Premiership title challenge firmly on track.

Celtic took the lead late in the first half through Daizen Maeda, who finished from close range to cap a sustained period of pressure. However, the advantage was short-lived, as Joe Newell struck in stoppage time to bring Hibernian level heading into the break.

With the contest finely poised, Iheanacho was introduced in the 70th minute in place of Yang Hyun-jun. The Nigerian forward wasted little time in making his presence felt, finding the net just two minutes after coming on to restore Celtic’s lead.

His goal ultimately proved decisive, sealing all three points for the visitors and taking his tally to seven goals across all competitions this season.
