IFK Goteborg have expressed their happiness after the capture of Saidu Salisu from Nigeria Professional Football League club Kano Pillars, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The Swedish club announced the signing of a former Flying Eagles player on loan until the end of the season with an option to buy.

Chief Scout of the club Stig Torbjörnsen said they are excited to have secured the services of the player.

"He is a powerful striker and it will be valuable for us to have him with us for a longer period this summer and ultimately, this allows us to evaluate Saidu further.

"I have been in Nigeria and seen Saidu in place both in matches and in training. He was very good in a tournament I followed earlier this summer. Saidu's physique is his main attribute. In addition, he is good in the air and completely fearless.

"He will need time to get into everything, but he has good potential to succeed in Blåvitt and the Allsvenskan," he said.

Salisu who spent the last season playing with Kano Pillars scored once in four games.
