The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has issued a strong warning to match officials, declaring that costly officiating errors will no longer be tolerated in domestic competitions, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
In a firm statement released by the federation, referees were cautioned that any official found guilty of misconduct or actions deemed to have negatively influenced match outcomes could face lifetime bans from football activities, as well as possible legal action.
TFF President Wallace Karia emphasized that the federation is prepared to take decisive measures to protect the integrity of the game in the country.
“We are serious about maintaining fairness and credibility in our competitions. There will be no room for costly mistakes,” Karia stated.
The development comes amid growing concerns over officiating standards in Tanzanian football, with several clubs reportedly expressing dissatisfaction over controversial decisions in recent fixtures.
The federation reiterated its commitment to upholding professionalism and accountability among referees, insisting that strict sanctions would be applied to anyone found culpable after due investigation.
The warning signals a tougher stance by the TFF as it seeks to restore confidence in the officiating system and safeguard the reputation of Tanzanian football.
