Tanzania Hosts FIBA African Mini-Basketball Convention

Dar-es-Salaam, the capital of Tanzania has been announced as the host of the 5th edition of the African Mini-Basketball Convention which hoods from November 23 to 25, 2023, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The event organized by the FIBA ​​Regional Office for Africa with the support of The FIBA ​​Foundation will welcome 400 children aged 5 to 12, 19 delegates from 16 different countries and 50 local coaches.
With the core objectives of training coaches, promoting mini-basketball in Africa and creating a positive and lasting experience for young participants to keep them in the basketball community, this program guarantees an exciting and engaging journey.
This program corresponds to FIBA's three key strategies: expanding the FIBA ​​community, empowering national federations and promoting the presence of women in basketball.
Previous editions took place in Abidjan in 2021 and in Nouakchott last year.
During the last edition, children received the tools and specific methodology to arouse their interest in the discipline, while instilling important values ​​​​related to basketball in coaches and players.
