Team Nigeria 4x100Meters Women Win Gold In Mauritius

Team Nigeria clinched a second gold medal in the ongoing 22nd African Athletics Championship in Saint Pierre, Mauritius.


The quartet of Praise Idamadudu, Tima Godbless, Praise Ofoku and track sensation Tobi Amusan at the Cote d'Or National Sports Complex stormed to gold in women's 4x100m final.


Amusan who took the last lap crossed the line in a time of 44.45s to beat South Africa who took silver with a time of 44:87s while Gambia finished third at a time of 44:97.


When the team got round after the race, they said to each other: 'Omo we don win GOLD'.


Meanwhile, it was not too good an outing for Team Nigeria men quartet of: Raymond Ekevwo, Nicholas Mabilo, Ogho-Oghene Egwero and Seye Ogunlewe as they got round the baton in the men's 4x100m, narrowly missing out on a podium placement after finishing 4th in a Season's Best of 39.98s. 


Team Kenya won the gold medal at a time of 39.28s while South Africa and Zimbabwe took silver and bronze respectively at a time of 39:79s and 39:81 seconds.
