Team Nigeria delivered a commanding performance at the ongoing African Athletics Championship, securing the gold medal in the 4×400m mixed relay final with a season’s best time of 3:16.44, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Nigerian quartet of Ezekiel Asuquo, Toheebat Jimoh, Victor Sampson, and Patience Okon-George produced a strong, well-coordinated display to edge out their rivals and claim top honours on Thursday.

Botswana finished second to take the silver medal, while Kenya claimed the bronze in a competitive final that highlighted the depth of talent across the continent in relay events.

Nigeria’s victory adds to the country’s impressive haul at the championships and further cements its reputation as a powerhouse in relay races on the African athletics scene.

The mixed relay has become one of Nigeria’s strongest events in recent years, with the team consistently delivering podium finishes through tactical racing and individual brilliance.

Team Nigeria will now look to build on this momentum as the championship continues.
