Team Nigeria Lands In Accra For Pre-Commonwealth Games Boxing Friendly

Team Nigeria has arrived in Accra, Ghana, ahead of an international friendly boxing tournament against Ghana’s Black Bombers and Hitters as part of preparations for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Nigerian delegation touched down on Wednesday and is set to compete on Thursday, May 7, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The bout forms a key component of the team’s build-up to the Commonwealth Games scheduled to hold from July 23 to August 2 in Glasgow, Scotland.
The contingent comprises a blend of male and female boxers, alongside a full complement of technical and administrative officials.
Male Boxers: Ogunremi Michael (55kg), Sodiq Oduniyi (60kg), Abdulrahmon Abdulwahaab (65kg), Folly Hassan (70kg), Daniel Joshua (80kg)
Female Boxers: Aishat Gbadamosi (57kg), Kadijat Ajisola (54kg), Orakwe Blessing (75kg)

The friendly tournament is expected to offer valuable competitive exposure for the Nigerian boxers as they intensify preparations for the multi-sport event in Scotland.
