After missing the ticket in Ghana last week, Team Nigeria Women's in 4×400 bounced back in Lagos and put themselves in a good position to secure the qualification ticket BSNSports.com.ng reports.

According to the World Athletics qualification standard, a team must be in the top 16 to be able to participate in the upcoming championship.

Competing at the Yaba Technology in Lagos on Friday, the Nigerian quartet of Omolara Omotosho, Patience Okon-George, Ella Onojuvwevwo and Imabong Uko performed beyond expectations.

They ran an astonishing season best of 3:27.60 to move into the top 14th in the World and brightened their chances of qualification.

They are in a good position but it is still not entirely in their hands, the qualification window shuts on July 30, and there's a chance other countries could run faster than 3:27.60.
