The Battle of Queens As Edo Face Delta In 2022 Sheroes Cup Final In Abuja
Age long supremacy sports rivalry that has exited between Edo State and Delta State will be rekindled tomorrow the 12th of November 2022 at the Old Parade Ground Area 10 Abuja, as Edo Queens tackle Delta Queens in the finals of this year's edition of Sheroes pre-season cup tournament.
Edo Queens who are pioneer members of the Sheroes pre-season cup tournament since it's inception in 2019, have distinguished themselves among the eight participating teams in the 2022 edition.
As winners of the maiden edition in 2019, Edo Queens have shown theirt preparedness for the 2022/2023 NWFL premiership season.
To reach the finals in the 2022 Sheroes pre- season cup tournament, Edo Queens played a total of seven games, won 6 and drew 1-1 against Delta Queens FC of Asaba. Edo Queens and Delta Queens will be out to prove a point in tomorrow's final as the age long rivalry between the two Sister neighbouring state will be rekindled in tomorrow's game. Apart from being a pre- season tournament, you would agree with me that there is a lot to play for as it has always been a fierce battle between the two States when it comes to Sporting activities. So tomorrow's Sheroes pre-season final match between Edo and Delta is not going to be an easy encounter.
The girls from the Heartbeat will be going into the game on a mindset of winning the Sheroes pre-season prestigious trophy. It is important to note that Edo Queens had gone through serious transformation under the tutelage of Moses Aduku. This pre- season tournament have no doubt given the various coaches that brought their teams to the competition an apple opportunity to test and evaluate their team for the new league season.
Edo Queens dream for the future appears to be very bright based on their performances in recent competitions. Football pundits have described tomorrow's encounter between Edo Queens FC and Delta Queens FC as a fight of two elephants.
The closing ceremony will be attended by Sports personalities particularly stakeholders in women football. In today's match played at Area 3 training pitch, Edo Queens thrashed Royal Queens of Warri 3-0, with a total of 19 points from 7 matches.
