Three African Countries Pick 2026 FIFA World Cup Tickets

Egypt have officially secured their place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, becoming the third African nation to confirm qualification for the global showpiece scheduled to take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Pharaohs sealed their spot with a commanding 3-0 victory over Djibouti on Wednesday night. Star forward Mohamed Salah led the way, scoring twice in a match that showcased Egypt's dominance from start to finish.
The win, played at a neutral venue in Casablanca due to regional security concerns, puts Egypt five points clear at the top of Group A with just one match remaining, rendering them mathematically uncatchable.
Despite their illustrious record in continental football with a record seven Africa Cup of Nations titles Egypt have historically found World Cup qualification elusive. Prior to this campaign, they had only qualified for the tournament on four occasions: in 1934, 1990, 2018, and now, 2026.
With this result, Egypt joins North African rivals Morocco and Tunisia as the continent’s confirmed representatives at next year’s tournament. More teams are expected to join them in the coming weeks as the qualifiers conclude across the CAF region.
