Three Nigerian Clubs Receive CAF's $150,000 Participation Fee

Nigeria Premier Football League Clubs, Remo Stars, Enyimba International and Bendel Insurance will receive One hundred and fifty thousand dollars ($150,00) from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as participation fee for their involvement in this year's CAF clubs competitions, BSNSports.com.ng can report.

Each team according to CAF will get Fifty thousand dollars as they failed to qualify for the group stages.

2022/23 Nigeria Premier Football League champions, Enyimba and the runners up, Remo Stars participated in the CAF Champions League while Third-placed Rivers United and Federation Cup champions, Bendel Insurance took part in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Enyimba were eliminated in the first preliminary round 4-3 on aggregate by Al-Ahly Benghazi while Remo Stars crashed out 3-2 on penalties against Ghanian Champions Medeama.

Bendel Insurance battled hard to reach the second preliminary round but were eventually knocked out by former champions RS Berkane 3-2 on aggregate.

Only Rivers United made it to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
