Four teams selected by the organiser to participate in the 2022 Tingo-NPFL Pre-season tournament have received the sum of Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000) each as mobilization fee ahead of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The invitational tourney sponsored by Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation selected four teams based on the patronage of their brand and the historical heritage of the clubs. The clubs that will participate in the first edition include 3SC, Enyimba International, Rangers International and Bendel Insurance.

The Pre-season tournament which would have started on Thursday in Lagos was postponed for logistic reasons and will now kick off on Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th December 2022 at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Sources from the four clubs who preferred anonymity confirmed receipt of payment from the Interim Management Committee (IMC) to the clubs.

"Yes, I can confirm to you that the sum of Ten Million Naira was paid to aid our club preparations for the invitational tourney." A member management of a team from the Southern part of Nigeria told BSN Sport.

"We received ours on Wednesday." A member of the Management of another team among the four corroborated.

"The Money was paid to ease our expenses for preparations for the competition."

Aside from the Ten Million Naira (N10million) received, the winner among the four teams will be One Hundred Million Naira (#100,000,000 million) richer.

"This is the first time this kind of prize money is given to the winner of a preseason tournament." An elated coach of a team amongst the chosen four stated.
