Toriola: Why I Accepted To Be The National Team Coach

The newly appointed coach of the Nigeria Table Tennis national team Segun Toriola has revealed the reason he took the appointment, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Olympian took over the team from coach Nosiru Sule and he led the team to the 2024 ITTF World Table Tennis Championship in Busan, South Korea.

Toriola said his ambition has always been to give back to the country.

" Before I retired, I thought about what other ex-players haven't done and that's why I decided to be around, even if it not as a national team coach.

"This is what I want to give back to table tennis.

" The game is not improving because a lot of us have moved away from the game, the most important thing for me is the development of the game.

" It's going to start from the youth, so they can become African and World champions", he told ITTF Africa.
