Trade Fair/Expo, NNOEP others Stage Football Talent Hunt in Abuja

In its desire to engage the teeming youth in the country, the Nigeria International Trade Fair/Expo organizers would be hosting the Nigeria Non-Oil Exportable Products in Nigeria and other foreign Countries with a two-day football talent Hunt scheduled from 16th to 17th May in the Nigeria Capital Territory.


The talent Hunt has its Theme; “Diversification as catalyst to our National Development”. 


In a statement issued on Tuesday in Abuja by Engineer Innocent Ogu said the talent hunt initiative at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja will not only help discover talent but it will attract investment 

opportunities to Nigeria.


"Football being one of the Special Non-oil products has been taken very seriously and we are keen to see its development.


"We are going to fixture Football matches in all the destinations where we are exhibiting the Nigerian Non-Oil exportable products (Malta, Brazil, 

South Korea, Mexico, and Turkey). Our selected football players during 

the talent hunt exercise would play with the counterpart players of the 

destination clubs.


"We want to showcase our boys for international engagements, contracts 

and Professionalism.


"Consequently, we are calling for Football Talented Youths between the ages of 18 to 25 years to come in numbers and participate in this two day exercise as selection will be based on merit.


According to him, the main event which is scheduled for June 21- 23 will start with an exposition at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja, with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF); Boss Mustapha set to declare the event open.
