Cagliari, a Serie A side, is interested in signing Nigerian forward David Okereke following his impressive performances this season, BSNSports.com.ng reports

Okereke, who played for Cremonese in Serie A last season, moved on loan to Turkish Super Lig club Gaziantep FK after Cremonese's relegation.

He has been one of the standout players for Gaziantep FK this season.

On Wednesday morning, Cagliari approached Cremonese to secure his signature.

While Cremonese has not yet set a transfer fee, it appears likely that Okereke will return to Serie A if the deal goes through during the winter transfer window.
