Transfer: Nigerian Forward Set For Ajax Exit
Sampson Adedeji
Despite playing a large number of games this season, Nigerian-eligible attacker Chuba Akpom is likely to move away from the Dutch Eredivisie giant Ajax Amsterdam, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The former Arsenal star moved to the Dutch League after a successful season in the English Championship with Middlesbrough.
His performance at the Riverside Stadium caught the attention of the European top teams but it was the former European champions that got his signature.
Despite scoring 15 goals in 35 games this season, he has been on the bench a situation that he will not accept in the coming season
According to the Soccer news, former England Junior International is not ready to be on the bench next season
" I don't think he will accept sitting on the bench, certainly not if serious clubs come for him which I expect.
" it could easily take until August when the Premier clubs start to panic a bit, then they all have it on the list.
If he can be picked up for €15 million.
That's nothing for Premier League clubs", the statement said.
Akpom still has 4 years left on his contract with Ajax.
