Transfer Blow For Barcelona and Madrid As Osimhen Stays Put in Istanbul

By BSN Sports

Victor Osimhen has effectively ruled out a potential move to European heavyweights, reaffirming his commitment to Galatasaray SK amid sustained transfer interest from clubs including FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF.

The Super Eagles striker, who has enjoyed a prolific spell in Turkey, stated that he feels settled in Istanbul and has no immediate intention of leaving the club. His comments come against the backdrop of growing speculation linking him with a summer transfer to several top European sides.

Osimhen has emerged as one of the most in-demand forwards in European football, having recorded an impressive return of 57 goals and 15 assists in 72 appearances for Galatasaray. His performances have drawn attention from elite clubs, but the 27-year-old insists his focus remains firmly on his current team.

“I think I’ve found a home here where I am comfortable,” Osimhen said. “This club is family. It’s love, unity, and utmost respect.”

He added that his sense of belonging extends beyond the pitch, noting that his family and close associates are equally content with life in Istanbul.

Osimhen’s stance represents a significant challenge for interested clubs. Both Barcelona and Real Madrid were reported to have monitored his performance during Galatasaray’s high-profile derby against Fenerbahçe SK, but his public commitment may complicate any potential negotiations.

Financial considerations also pose a major hurdle. Galatasaray are believed to be unwilling to consider offers below a nine-figure fee, while Osimhen’s reported annual salary of approximately €21 million net makes any transfer a substantial investment. He is currently the highest-paid player in Turkish football.

Having quickly established himself as a fan favourite, Osimhen’s latest remarks suggest that any attempt to secure his services in the near future will require more than strong interest, as both personal and financial factors weigh heavily in favour of his continued stay in Istanbul.
